Social Fundraising Event | Pitha Utsab 2020

During my time studying at IBA, I became involved with the voluntary organization “2 Taka Hashimukh” from its early formative stage. The organization was founded by one of my immediate seniors, and I actively contributed to its activities with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.

In 2020, on behalf of 2 Taka Hashimukh, we organized a Pitha Utsab (Traditional Cake Festival) in front of Government Ashik Mahmud College, the largest college campus in the Mymensingh Division. The event was designed not only as a cultural celebration but also as a fundraising initiative for social welfare.

As a member of the event implementation committee, I worked closely with decorator firms and event management teams to prepare the stalls, overall décor, and a selfie/photo booth—ensuring an engaging and visually appealing experience for participants. Through effective coordination and execution, we successfully delivered a well-organized public event.

The festival received overwhelming participation from college students, resulting in sales that exceeded our initial expectations. The profits generated from the event were later allocated to support underprivileged individuals, reinforcing the organization’s mission of social responsibility and community impact.

Several senior and core members of the organization, including Mehedi Bhai, Muktiya Apu, and other team members, were present at the event, contributing to its success through collective effort and teamwork.

This experience reflects my early involvement in social initiatives, event execution, stakeholder coordination, and purpose-driven fundraising, which continues to influence my professional approach to planning and managing impactful initiatives.
