Honoring History: Recognition at the National Mourning Day 2017

Continuing my streak of active participation at Dhamrai Government College, I was honored to receive an award during the National Mourning Day programs on August 15, 2017.

In a commemorative event held at our Business Studies Building hall room, I participated in the essay competition focused on the early life and childhood of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Among many participants, my research and portrayal of his formative years earned me the 2nd Prize.

The Event Highlights:

  • Esteemed Presence: It was a privilege to once again receive an award from the Chief Guest, the Honorable MP of Dhaka-20, alongside our respected Principal and faculty members.
  • The Atmosphere: The program was a solemn tribute, starting with the recitation from the Holy Quran and followed by heart-touching speeches from the guests and teachers regarding the legacy of the martyrs.
  • Community & Reflection: The event concluded with a special prayer (Dua) for the departed souls, followed by a communal lunch, fostering a sense of unity among everyone present.

Why this matters in my Professional Life: As a Marketing Professional, the ability to research a subject deeply and present it in a compelling, structured narrative is essential. Winning this award in the Business Studies department reinforced my skills in analytical writing and historical storytelling—tools I use today to build strong brand messages and connect with diverse audiences.

Key Recognition:

  • Award: 2nd Prize in Research-based Essay Writing.
  • Thematic Focus: Historical Analysis & Biography.
  • Consistency: Repeatedly recognized for excellence by the highest college authorities and local leadership.
