Beyond Pixels & Print: Winning the Best Magazine Design Award & My Journey as a Rotaract Editor

Design is not just what it looks like; it’s about how it communicates a vision. On July 7, 2024, at the Recreation Club in Jamalpur, I was honored with the "Best Magazine Design Award" by the Rotaract Club of Jamalpur. This recognition for the 2023-2024 session wasn't just for a publication; it was the result of a complete branding ecosystem I developed from my Khuluku office.

360° Event Branding Execution

As the creative lead, I conceptualized and executed the entire visual identity of the year-ending conference:

  • Thematic Magazine: Designed 'Agrogami' (2023-24), focusing on consistent branding and storytelling.
  • Event Infrastructure: Beyond the magazine, I designed the thematic ID cards for delegates and the entire backstage/stage scenography to ensure a professional corporate look throughout the venue.
  • Strategic Collaboration: I worked closely with President Faisal Sarkar and Past President Leon Bhai, whose support was vital in bringing this creative vision to life.

The Official Beginning: A New Identity

While the awards came later, my official journey began on February 2, 2024, when I was pinned as an official member of the club. It was a proud moment as I added a new identity to my name. I am deeply grateful to Mehedi Hasan Akanda, Fh Leon, Faisal Sarkar, and Md Yeasin Arafat brothers for their guidance and for welcoming me into this global family of service.

Impactful Leadership as Editor (2024-2025)

Building on this foundation, I was appointed as the Editor for the 2024-25 session. This role allowed me to combine my branding expertise with humanitarian service through projects such as:

  • Community Welfare: Leading heatwave relief by distributing sherbet and saline, and organizing medical camps.
  • Environmental Action: Coordinating tree plantation programs to promote sustainability.

The Connection Between Service and Branding

People often ask how my club activities relate to my career as a Brand Executive. My answer is simple: Empathy. Whether I am designing a magazine for Rotaract or a campaign for Lovello Ice-Cream, the goal is the same—to connect with people’s hearts and provide value.

Being an Editor taught me how to manage narratives, lead teams, and stay consistent under pressure—skills that I bring to the table every single day in my professional life.
